Homestay Program
At La Guarida, we believe that learning Spanish goes far beyond the classroom. That’s why we offer homestays with local families — a unique opportunity to experience daily life in Oaxaca while practicing your Spanish in a warm and authentic environment.
You can share your interests with us — some families enjoy more social interaction and activities with students, while others prefer a quieter, more independent stay. We will do our best to match you with a family that fits your style.
Location
Most of our host families live in and around Oaxaca’s historic downtown and close the school. All are within walking distance of the school (about 10–20 minutes on foot).
We also offer some options farther away that are quieter (around 30 minutes walking), and although they’re not in the city center, it’s easy and faster to get around using public transportation.
